Turning A Bowl On Your Table Saw

For those that don’t have a lathe, there are jigs that can be built in order to turn a bowl on a table saw. You have to be sure to design and build the jig correctly, and have it where it will be securely locked onto the table saw itself.

This method shows you that there is more than one way to complete a project when it comes to woodworking. You are going to be limited on the table saw though in the depth of cut, the radius of the bowl, etc.. because the lathe gives you the versatility the table saw just doesn’t have.

Make sure that whatever jig you make it is one that has proven to work. If not you can find yourself badly hurt. So whatever source you use to build this jig, make sure that it is accurate and precise.

There are other pieces that can be made on the table saw as well, as long as you have the right jigs set up. We will look at these in future posts. Until then watch this video as the woodworker uses what he has at his disposal in order to make a wooden bowl on the table saw. He uses the saw to shape the outside and inside of the bowl.
