Porch Swing Plans

Moment Of LeisureI have built thousands of porch swings with my outdoor furniture business that has been running for over a decade, and the very first one that I designed and built took about 2 days. Of course, back then I didn’t even think to check online for plans, so I just saw a picture and tried to make one that was similar.

That was over 10 years ago, and now I am glad to say that you don’t have to take a few days to build one, but can do it in a day or less if you have instructions like in this video below.

Remember, you can make modifications to it in order to suite your own taste. Also, the lumber used can be different, but I do recommend that you use an exterior wood if it is not under cover. Even under a roof, being outside you may want to find a wood that is bug resistant such as fir, cypress, or cedar. We use cypress for our swings, but it can be whatever exterior wood you can get your hands on.
