In the shop you never can have enough clamps. By the time you purchase what is considered enough, you will have spent a wad of cash. Which is fine if you have it handy. But for those that don’t have much to work with, here is a great alternative. You can use this low cost method in place of spring clamps (the clamp to your top left is a spring clamp) with a 4 inch schedule 40 pvc pipe. One piece of pipe can give you a ton of spring clamps – and what makes them nice is the more you open them up the tighter they get.
Keep these tips in mind and you will have plenty of clamps for your woodworking shop:
